Rectangular sheet of paper with a textile design from a group, dated 1840, made in Mulhouse, Alsace, which was an important nineteenth-century center for textile production in the Haut-Rhin region of France. The design is made up of alternating vertical twisting strips of dots of light tan color and garlands of pearls and rosettes over a background with horizontal stripes of ribbon of light tan color with brown stipples over a brown base. The rosettes are colored with purple, orange and green; the pearls are colored with white.
