'Palabras Grabadas / Graven Words' is a book of poems and etchings by Octavio Paz and Gunther Gerzso. Paz is regarded one of most influential writers of the 20th century and one of the greatest Hispanic poets. Paz regarded Gerzso as one of Mexico's best artists and the two worked in collaboration on this project. The poems are printed Spanish on the verso and English on the recto. The etchings are printed on separate leaves and inserted into the bi-fold of poems. The book is designed by Frank Hine. The poems are printed by Jill Livermore with the assistance of others who are named at the end of the portfolio. An edition of 50 was printed of which this is number 20. The final folio that contains this information is signed in pencil by both Octavio Paz and Gerzso.
