Frontispiece to the Second Volume of Hayley's Memoirs

1823
Not on view
This print portrays the poet and author William Hayley, his son Thomas and William Meyer--son of Hayley's friend the miniature painter Jeremiah Meyer. In Romney's original picture, the latter included himself at the right but the engraved version omitted the artist's head "on account of its imperfect resemblance."
