Not on view
This image of a young woman in seventeenth-century costume praying by a four-poster bed comes from a set of six stipple engravings after drawings by Cosway. Published by Smith in 1785, the themes relate to the training of youth--with the others titled "Instruction," "Improvement," "Study," "Affection," and "Education." This composition derived from an etching believed in the late 18th century to be by Rembrandt.
