This early twentieth-copy of an etching by James McNeil Whistler demonstrates his long-lived popularity. The artist's created the related print in London 1859 and ot was published in 1871 as part of the “Thames Set” (see MMA: 17.3.333). Slightly fuzzy lines here indicate an image that was transfered and re-etched, and its reproductive character is affirmed by the engraved title and signature below, and publisher’s name above.
