40th plate of album with 60 19th-century costume plates and 1 drawing of mostly women's historical costumes, featuring a variety of designs for traditional costumes from different parts of the world, as well as costumes for literary characters, including Esmeralda. This plate consists of a woman wearing a costume for Vert-Vert, made up of matching green jacket and skirt with horizontal black-and-gold stripes and soft pink ribbon bows over a black gilet. The cuffs of the jacket are made up of pale pink triangles, as well as the borders of the neck of the jacket. She wears a green hat with black ribbons and bows, and a hanging tail with soft pink ribbon motifs and pompoms. She wears cream gloves, soft pink stockings, and black low heels.
