43rd plate of album with 60 19th-century costume plates and 1 drawing of mostly women's historical costumes, featuring a variety of designs for traditional costumes from different parts of the world, as well as costumes for literary characters, including Esmeralda. This plate consists of a woman wearing a costume for a Soubrette, made up of a pink dress with borders made up of thin, undulating brown branches with small bundles of pink roses, white flowers and green leaves, and with similar thin bundles of flowers and leaves on the shoulders and bosom, with elongated, pointed cuffs lined with green, a matching green belt, and a white lace apron with semi-abstract floral motifs. She wears a ruff-like headdress, tied with a green ribbon bow at the back of her head, her hair pulled back to form two long braids, each with three green ribbon bows tied at the end. She wears a green ribbon tied like a choker around her neck, also forming a bow. She wears white gloves and golden bangles, white stockings, and green, pointed shoes with ankle straps and bows.
