46th plate of album with 60 19th-century costume plates and 1 drawing of mostly women's historical costumes, featuring a variety of designs for traditional costumes from different parts of the world, as well as costumes for literary characters, including Esmeralda. This plate consists of a woman wearing a historic costume, made up of a dark green vest tied with zig-zagging ribbons to reveal a white chemise underneath, and a white skirt with an underlayer of fabric embroidered with golden scrolling motifs and with dark green fabric on the back, and long, bell-shaped green sleeves with white scalloped borders with golden scrolling motifs, with slits on the shoulders and under the elbows. She wears a black bell-shaped hat and matching, long gloves, dark green stockings and black low heels with square golden buckles. She holds a wooden tambourine on one hand.
