50th plate of album with 60 19th-century costume plates and 1 drawing of mostly women's historical costumes, featuring a variety of designs for traditional costumes from different parts of the world, as well as costumes for literary characters, including Esmeralda. This plate consists of a woman wearing a costume for a Viennese Lady, made up of a dark green dress with borders made of a ligher green ground with scrolling motifs executed with soft shades of pink, green, yellow, purple and blue, and outlined with thin, gold lines. The front part of the skirt is made of this same fabric, as is the upper part of the taille, and some stripes that adorn the sleeves of the dress. A soft pink chemise covers the region of the arms around the elbows, and a white ruffled collar surrounds the woman's neck. A jeweled belt with rubies and sapphires, bordered with gold, and with two hanging strips, highlights the lady's waist. She wears cream gloves with white lace cuffs, and her hair is helf up by a black ribbon with white feathers. She holds a jeweled fan with pale pink and white feathers on one hand, and wears white stockings and black, pointed low heels.
