53rd plate of album with 60 19th-century costume plates and 1 drawing of mostly women's historical costumes, featuring a variety of designs for traditional costumes from different parts of the world, as well as costumes for literary characters, including Esmeralda. This plate consists of a woman wearing a costume of a swallow, made up of an ankle-length blue dress decorated with small flying blue swallow motifs, with scalloping, white layers of fabric on the chest, and a white apron also with flying blue swallow motifs. Two wings cover her shoulders and the back of her arms, which are dressed with long, white gloves. She wears a headdress of a blue swallow, two golden bangles around each wrist, white stockings and blue, low-heeled slippers, each with two small, blue wings.
