Cutout fragment of journal page with advertisements for jewelers and watch sellers, probably from an edition of the "Jewelers Circular and Horological Review," a publication established in 1869 as a trade journal dedicated to jewelry, clocks, watches, and silverware. In the recto, the page presents advertisiements for David F. Conover & Co. (successors to Wm. B. Warne & Co.), Spiecker, Simons & Bro., and Freund, Goldsmith & Co, importers of watches, under which is an illustration of a watch machine with the inscription "A. Schneider, Dresden, 2013." The verso contains an advertisement for Geo. O. Street & Son, manufacturers of fine jewelry in New York, featuring 15 designs for fine seal and cameo rings, most containing ovals or rectangles where the seals or cameos would be executed, the first 6 presenting full designs with figures inside the shapes, and most decorated with scrolling motifs or stripes; the last three rings contain faceted ovals, possible stones, one of them with an engraved flower with leaves.
