Bouquets et Frondaisons (Flowers and Foliage), Pl. 12
Twelfth plate of album with 20 pochoir pattern plates, titled "Bouquets et Frondaisons" (Flowers and foliage), created by Émile-Allain Séguy and published in Paris by Charles Massin and in New York by Brentano's around 1925. The plate contains three ornamental designs, possibly for textiles or wallpapers, with lively, semi-abstract motifs inspired from nature. The first design is made up of thin, interlacing branches with leaves, colored with black and blue, and semi-abstract flowers, executed with shades of orange and green, on a purple ground. The second design consists of an octagonal frame, colored with black and blue, containing bundles of semi-abstract leaves, colored with shades of green, on a gray ground. The third design is made up of large, semi-abstract exotic flowers with leaves, executed with green, white, black, red, and shades of brown, and with thin, offsetting, scrolling branches, colored with green, with small, round flower buds, colored with light brown, on a light blue background with black vertical stripes and interlacing branches, colored with silver and outlined with dark gray.
