Bouquets et Frondaisons (Flowers and Foliage), Pl. 19
Nineteenth plate of album with 20 pochoir pattern plates, titled "Bouquets et Frondaisons" (Flowers and foliage), created by Émile-Allain Séguy and published in Paris by Charles Massin and in New York by Brentano's around 1925. The plate contains three ornamental designs, possibly for textiles or wallpapers, with lively, semi-abstract motifs inspired from nature. The first design is made up of a large, oval frame colored with cream and containing a bundle of semi-abstract fruits, colored with white and green, and leaves, colored with light brown and black and purple, on a light blue ground. The second design is made up of vertical, undulating, blue branches with semi-abstract flowers and leaves, colored with blue, purple, and gold, on a blue ground. The third design is made up of a stylized tree with an undulating trunk and offsetting scrolling branches with leaves, executed with blue, dark bluish-green, and light brown, and large rosettes, colored with purple, light brown, and black, on a green ground, framed by a blue square and a larger dark-green square.
