Engraving, part of a set of 12 small, round prints of varied subjects, representing scenes of Ancient Roman history or mythology, created by Étienne Delaune before 1573. This print consists of a representation of Cincinnatus, with his back turned to the viewer, dressed with peasant clothing, and driving a plow pulled by two oxes, turning towards two soldiers (the Roman messengers, who have come to announce him his accession to the consulate), on the right.
