David and Goliath

After Marcantonio Raimondi Italian
before 1573
Not on view
Engraving, part of a set of 8 prints created by Delaune after Marcantonio Raimondi, Raphael, Rosso, and Michelangelo. This print represents David, near the center, cutting the head of Goliath, on the floor, below him, surrounded by a troop of soldiers; a forest is seen on the left and a military camp in the background, on the right. Delaune repeats this subject on a 1561 print, part of a set of scenes of the Old Testament. This is an inverted copy of a print by Marcantonio Raimondi, after Raphael.
