This engraving consists of a side portrait of Jean Jacques Boissard, designer of the plates in the book, wearing a ruff, short-sleeved overcoat and doublet with long puff sleeves, and holding a pen on his left hand, writing with it. The frame has small, stylized leaves, and around it are inscriptions in Russian and Latin.
