William Eggleston American
Not on view
William Eggleston emerged in the early 1960s as a pioneer of modern color photography. Now, 50 years later, he is widely considered its greatest exemplar. Prior to and concurrent with Eggleston's early involvement with color, he worked in black and white producing rather extraordinary, if seldom seen, photographs of the contemporary built environment of American South.
