Tobacco insert card from the "Nature Cards" series (T90), issued with La Marquise Cigarettes by Butler-Butler, Inc. The cards were printed in Austria, and a real feather from the bird depicted is glued down on each card in the shape of the bird. The cards may have never actually been issued with the cigarette packs, as they proved to be too expensive and labor-intensive to manufacture. Thus, very few sets were made. The cards were initially introduced in glassine envelopes advertising La Marquise Cigarettes with the following inscription: "It is with the idea of encouraging the growing interest of the American Public in all things pertaining to outdoor life that this series of birds is offered. Each subject is the product of an individual artist working under the direktion (sic) of a naturalist, and will be found correct in all essential details."
