Charles Bender from Sporting Life Cabinets (W600). Issued from 1902 to 1911 by Sporting Life Newspaper Company, Philadelphia. Set consists of over 680 unnumbered cards. Player portraits are by photographer Carl Horner. Black and white or color tinted player photo. Player's name, position and team printed below studio portrait. Player shown either in uniform or in street clothes. Mounted on a thick cardboard frame. Issued in individual glassine envelopes. Ornately embossed mounts found in one of four design variations. Blank back. Sponsor ad stamped on back of some cards.
