Dream State

Kathy Butterly American

Not on view

Butterly’s striking use of line is an essential element of Dream State. Here, she creates a tension between the precision of the applied and painted lines and the shape of the vessel: the work’s collapsed opening and slack handles transform into three-dimensional lines. Butterly’s sculptures are concise studies in form, not unlike the work of George Ohr.
