Potemata

Amara Geffen American

Not on view

Geffen creates sculptures that appear to undulate and breathe. Here, broad, winglike expanses—a technical feat—emerge from a swollen center, the whole precipitously balanced upon a rounded posterior. The surface mimics corrosion in both texture and color, nodding to environmental processes and reactions.
