Diverse civilizations known collectively as Ancestral Puebloan flourished in the southwest of what is now the United States before the arrival of Europeans. This jar or olla was created in a style known as Jeddito Black-on-Yellow, and it features a geometric design painted in a black iron-manganese pigment.
