Olive-green ground vase with pâte-sur-pâte decoration
Solon, a ceramic technician who initially trained at Sèvres, developed this cameo-type decoration at Minton. At the Staffordshire manufactory, Solon combined pâte-sur-pâte with rich ground colors such as the olive green seen on this vase.
