Large round plate with lobsters

Manufactory Renoleau Manufactory French
1887–88
Not on view
More than just a useful piece of tableware, this large plate shows the compositional skills of Alfred Renoleau. The lobsters’ naturalistic colors contrast with the striking green tone of the background glaze. Renoleau proudly signed his name on the reverse.
