A prolific illustrator and engraver, Pinelli depicted Roman costume, the popular customs of Italian peasants, and scenes of classical legend and myth. This terracotta demonstrates his further gifts as an able sculptor, capable of capturing the character and costume of his subjects in three dimensions.
