This Hog the Property of Mr. William White of Kingston, Surrey...

Publisher Elizabeth Walker British
April 4, 1798
Not on view
This rare portrait of a fattened pink hog with black spots shows the animal in profile with a view of a fence and trees through the barn door at right. Engraved text below the image gives the animal's age–two and a half; size– four feet high, eight feet, nine inches long, nine feet, two inches in girth; and weight–980 pounds–suggesting that with time, it could have doubled in size. The publisher, Elizabeth Walker, continued to operate her husband's London business after his death.
