Manufactory Steingutfabrik Wächtersbach German
Not on view
Although the Wächtersbacher Steingutfabrik began as an earthenware company in the early nineteenth century, the company reached its height during the first decades of the twentieth century, under the direction of Christian Neureuther, who introduced Jugendstil design principles into the factory’s products and displayed works at the exhibitions of the Darmstadt Artists’ Colony. The radical designs of the manufactory are on display in this unusually shaped vase from the turn of the twentieth century.
