Ensemble
Clements Ribeiro is the partnership of husband and wife Inacio Ribeiro and Suzanne Clements. They are graduates of Saint Martins, the design program that has been the training ground for many of the most influential designers of the last decade. Both their designs and the thematic presentations of their work are characterized by an imaginative mix of narrative allusions and materials. In the design shown here, they play with classical imagery perceived through the lens of a 1950s Hollywood epic. With characteristically subversive intention and wit, they strapped a diaphanous chiffon chiton with a thick metal-eyeleted belt, creating a dress appropriate for a contemporary Amazon.
