Translated as Flowers of Auschwitz, this publication of twenty five drawings by Soviet-Jewish graphic artist and painter Zinowij Tolkaczew (1903–1977), is one of the earliest books illustrating the Holocaust. It is based on his observations of prisoners in Auschwitz. While serving in the Red Army, he participated in the liberation of the concentration camps Majdanek and Auschwitz. In the same year of this publication, two exhibition catalogs (Majdanek: Zinowij Tołkaczew: Wystawa w Sukiennicach and Majdanek) were published that document his experience in Majdanek.
