This catalog is from an auction held at the Galerie des Beaux-Arts on June 28, 1946 to support the Society for the Protection of Jewish Children (OPEJ). OPEJ was a child welfare association founded in 1945 to welcome children of deportees, many of whom had hidden in the French countryside, as well as those returning from internment camps. Artists in the sale include Marc Chagall, Fernand Léger, Henri Matisse, and Pablo Picasso.
