The recto of this sheet shows a design for a page in a children's book or periodical with a large branch on which 5 large beetles and a group of small beetles in a wagon are placed. A sixth large beetle walks across the top of the text field, which is placed in the lower right. On the verso a plant study is depicted, it is executed in pen and brown ink and has partially been embellished with watercolor. Above the plant two butterflies have been indicated in graphite and, below, there is a cursory outline of a lizard.
