This work of art is currently on loan to the museum.
According to its inscription, this piece was cast in 1306 for the Confucian school of Zhenjiang Prefecture in the lower Yangtze delta. A local gazetteer recorded that a total of 574 ritual bronzes were commissioned by officials at the school to replace ritual vessels of bamboo and wood dating from the Southern Song dynasty.

鎮江路總管提調學校官史中順, 儒學教授王公進大德丙午吉日鑄造
[Grand Master of] Palace Accord Shi [Can], Director General of Zhenjiang and Supervisor of the Confucian school, and Wang Jin, Instructor of the Confucian school, cast it on an auspicious day of the binwu year of the Dade reign.
