Tobacco insert from Playing Cards (C165) manufactured by Macdonald Tobacco Company, Montreal to promote British Consols or Brier cigarettes. Distributed from ca.1926–1947. 53 cards for each year of distribution. On each card the printing is in red, green and black. Front includes playing card, card number, company name and address, serial number, and redemption offer with expiration date. Printed at right on each card over the text is a letter of the alphabet printed in red. The Joker card includes picture of a card of a hockey player. Many different back designs.
