Engraved, patterned silver wires are inset into the borders of top of the box. In the center of the top of the box, there is an inset engraved gold plaque, engraved with "H. S. Moore". The spine is divided into four panels, separated by raised bands motifs. The box is lined with light blue velvet, with a mirror inset into the top cover; one toothpick is enclosed, but this is not original. -- description by Mindell Dubansky in consultation with Lynn Heckman
