Box in the form of a book
Book-form box with a drawer at the spine. All structural joins are secured with steel nails. The front cover is veneered with various woods creating a large diamond pattern by book matching the pattern four ways. The back cover, the spine and the outer edges of the front cover are painted black. The edges of the book are painted gold. The interior of the drawer is painted gold and has a brown velvet lining, with traces of red paint below. -- description by Mindell Dubansky in consultation with Marijn Manuels
