Box in book form
Wood, book-shaped box with case carved from a single piece of wood. The opening on the foredge is covered by a lid with sliding dovetail edges. The case is engraved on all sides with architectural scenes in scrimshaw technique, framed by chip-carved banding. The sliding lid is carved in relief to depict a narrow niche with columned arch.
