Ritual grain container (fu)
This is the only known example of a Yuan dynasty ritual bronze vessel that can be linked with certainty to a specific place of production. Its inscription states that it was cast in 1321 for the Confucian Temple of Zhongqing Route (now Kunming, Yunnan Province). Based on a historical text, this special order of ritual bronzes was completed with official support in Luling (now Ji’an, Jiangxi Province), a major center of archaistic bronze production.
