Technical Drawing with a Section of an Oriel Window for the Tower of Lyndhurst for George Merritt, Tarrytown, New York

Alexander Jackson Davis American

Not on view

This drawing contains an elevation and various sections illustrating the mechanism for the sliding doors that were to be installed in the dining room at Lyndhurst. The design of the doors is neo-gothic in style, which is most apparent in the slim ogival tracery of the carved panels. Only one of the doors has been depicted. A scale and various measurements are given, in addition to a horizontal section below the elevation that clarifies the mechanism of the pocket doors.
