Representation of a Flower (One Continuous Line)

Analia Saban American
2015
Not on view
The contemporary artist Analia Saban has worked in sculpture, painting, and printmaking. In every medium, she examines, dissects, and reconstructs the materials, processes, and assumptions associated with each practice to create vital new examinations. She uses unconventional methods in her quest, frequently conflating the divisions between techniques. In addition to engaging the subject and process of art making, Saban examines the forms, materials, and functions of everyday objects, such as wooden floorboards, pitchers, sinks, household furniture and other such things. By focusing on the overlooked, Saban highlights issues of vulnerability, engagement, value, and attention.
