Container for Bulbs

China

Not on view

Most likely used to grow narcissus for the New Year, this elegant container is an interesting Longquan vessel in a shape more commonly associated with the Jun wares of north China. It illustrates the complex interactions between different kilns found in Chinese ceramics from the eleventh to the early fourteenth century.
