Ann Patchett: The Met is Always The Met

This video is part of Meet Me at The Met, a series in which celebrated guests visit the Museum to share what they think and feel about their favorite works of art.

Writer Ann Patchett and her dear friend, Marti Fischer, began coming to The Met together when they were students at Sarah Lawrence College.

“I just thought, ‘this is the grown-up world,’” Ann says, “the beautiful world of my future.”

Join Ann and Marti on their most recent walk through our European Paintings galleries where they recount how Marti recently came to Ann’s aid when she needed to choose which work from The Met collection to include in Whistler, her latest novel.
