Man Ray’s Roast

Man Ray’s Roast narrates the work performed by technicians and film specialists at Womanray and Cinenovo to restore the original print of Man Ray’s first film, Retour à la raison (Return to Reason) (1923), which is housed today at the Cinémathèque français in Paris. The restoration, conducted in 2025, was supported by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the new print premiered at the exhibition Man Ray: When Objects Dream (2025).

Three interlocking golden round gears, a clock-like mechanism, shattered glass, geometric lines, and with a printed work that can be read as "DANCER” or "DANGER" with a black background.
