Questo lungo e stretto arazzo da parete presenta una varietà di colori squisitamente conservati. Doveva essere appeso tra il cornicione e lo zoccolo di una stanza a pannelli di legno, nel modo definito dai tessitori fiamminghi “stile inglese”. In base allo stile, all’iconografia e alla fattura tecnica, viene attribuito a tessitori immigrati fuggiti dalle Fiandre devastate dalla guerra per stabilirsi in Inghilterra, probabilmente a Londra. Dati i limiti imposti dalle circostanze, elementi del cartone dell’arazzo sono stati abilmente ricomposti riutilizzando un vecchio disegno: il palazzo al centro si basa su una xilografia che rappresenta il palazzo di re Salomone eseguita dall’artista svizzero Jost Amman (1539 - 1591).
