このテーブルは、当館のコレクションに初めて収蔵されたロシアの調度品です。銀の象嵌細工、装飾的なエッチング、そして多くの鍍金加工が施された数点の作品群のうちの一点ですが、ロシア国外での現存が確認されている唯一のものであり、視覚的に最も優れていると言えます。これらの傑出した品は外交的な贈物、または花嫁の持参品として製作されました。最新の研究により、この装飾用のテーブルは、ロシアの皇室のために作られたものであることが分かっており、パブロフスクの宮殿にあった皇后マリア・フョードロヴナの寝室の調度品として目録に記載されています。1801年、皇后は亡くなった妹の夫であるオルデンブルク大公ピョートルに、このテーブルを贈っています。
