リビアの巫女のための習作
ミケランジェロによるこの熟達した素描は、バチカン宮殿のシスティーナ礼拝堂の天井のフレスコ画に登場する、異教徒の女性預言者リビアの巫女の習作です。男性の助手またはモデルをもとに、筋肉質の体が優雅にねじれた様子を捉えており、頭、胴、そして持ち上げた腕が描かれています。一連のスケッチでは、洗練された横顔、親指を軸として旋回する足、そして上げた手(フレスコ画では預言書を持つ)を描き直しています。遺族によって所有されていたこの作品は、ミケランジェロの最も重要で有名な素描のひとつです。
