書記官ホルエムヘブ

ホルエムヘブは、自らファラオになる以前に、軍隊司令長官とファラオの補佐としてアイ王とツタンカーメン王に仕えました。ホルエムヘブの将軍時代に作られたこの肖像は、彼を書記官及び事務官として表しています。 今では右手が失われていますが、膝に置かれ たパピルスによって書き物をしていたことは明らかです。文字と英知の神トトへの献辞が刻まれており、ファラオに対するホルエムヘブの献身を、太陽神ラーに仕える誠実な高官のトトになぞらえています。
