(New York, December 2, 2025)—The Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced today that it has elected Prakash Melwani and Carlos Rodríguez-Pastor as Elective Trustees. The election took place at the December 2, 2025 meeting of the Board and was announced by Candace K. Beinecke and Hamilton (“Tony”) E. James, Co-Chairs of the Museum’s Board of Trustees.
“We are thrilled to elect Prakash and Carlos and welcome their exceptional leadership skills to our board,” said Board Co-Chairs Beinecke and James. “Their esteemed support of international organizations and education initiatives complement The Museum’s global perspective, and we look forward to working with them to further the mission of the institution.”
Prakash Melwani
Prakash Melwani has been a Senior Managing Director at Blackstone since 2003 and is Chairman of the firm’s International Private Equity business. He has served as Global Chief Investment Officer of Private Equity, has led a number of the firm’s investments, and has served on numerous corporate boards.
Mr. Melwani graduated with a First Class Honors degree from Cambridge University, England, and an MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar and a Loeb Rhodes Fellow. He has been elected an Honorary Fellow at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge University and has been appointed an Executive Fellow at Harvard Business School.
Additionally, he serves on the Board of Dean’s Advisors at Harvard Business School and the boards of Cambridge in America and the International Rescue Committee. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
At The Met, Mr. Melwani and his wife, Anjali, are members of the Chairman’s Council and major supporters of the forthcoming Oscar L. Tang and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang Wing for Modern and Contemporary Art.
Carlos Rodríguez-Pastor
Carlos Rodríguez-Pastor is the founder and Chairman of Intercorp and founder and Managing Partner of Nexus Group, which invests in a diverse portfolio of companies primarily in Latin America.
Mr. Rodríguez-Pastor serves as Co-Chairman of The Chairman's International Advisory Council of the Americas Society/Council of the Americas, member of The Global Advisory Council at Harvard University, member of the Global Board of Advisors of the Council on Foreign Relations, member of the Advisory Board of Vista Equity Partners, and member of the Board of Trustees at The New York Public Library. He is a supporter of education projects as co-founder and Chairman of Innova Schools and member of the Khan Academy Board.
He graduated with a BA in Social Sciences from the University of California at Berkeley and obtained an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
At The Met, Mr. Rodríguez-Pastor and his wife, Gabriela Pérez Rocchietti, are major supporters of the recently reopened Michael C. Rockefeller Wing.
