죽음의 사자와 조각가
프렌치의 밀모어 기념비는 보스턴 조각가 마틴 밀모어의 형 요셉을 기리고 그에게 경의를 표하기 위해 밀모어 가족의 의뢰로 제작된 것입니다. 원래 동상은 1893년도에 매사추세츠 자메이카 플레인에 있는 포리스트 힐스 묘지에 세워졌었는데 이 대리석 복사판은 나중에 메트로폴리탄 박물관을 위해 조각되었습니다. 죽음의 사자가 젊은 조각가에게 나타나 그의 작업을 중단하려고 손을 내밉니다. 그녀는 오른손에 영원한 잠을 상징하는 양귀비를 들고 있습니다. 20세기 초의 주요 기념비 조각가 프렌치는 워싱턴 D.C.에 있는 링컨 기념비인 그의 작품 앉아 있는 링컨으로 유명합니다.
