예수 배반과 예수의 체포를 묘사한 부조
중세 교회에서 성가대 내벽은 신도석과 성가대석을 분리하였습니다. 13세기까지 이러한 내벽은 방대한 이야기 그림으로 장식되었으며, 특히 예수의 현세 최후 사건인 수난의 장면이 많이 묘사되었습니다. 이 작품은 네 가지 주요 사건을 압축하여 극적으로 보여 주고 있습니다. 대제사장의 시종인 말고의 귀를 자른 후 칼을 칼집에 넣는 베드로, 그 귀를 기적적으로 다시 붙여 주는 예수, 입맞춤으로 그리스도를 배신하는 유다,예수를 체포하는 로마 병사를 묘사하는 네 가지 장면입니다. 이러한 내벽은 신도들이 예배에 참여하는 것을 방해했기 때문에 대부분의 유럽 교회에서 성가대 내벽은 점차 소멸되었으며 아미앵 성당의 내벽은 1755년에 제거되었습니다. 이 부조는 현존하는 것 중 가장 크고 보존 상태가 가장 좋은 이야기 조각상의 하나입니다.
