크리스토발 발렌시아가는 20세기 오트 쿠튀르의 거장 중 한 명입니다. 남성복과 여성복에 공히 뛰어났던 발렌시아가는 가장 부드러운 가운에서도 나타나는 구조에 대한 뛰어난 감각으로 유명합니다. 이 드레스는 그의 많은 작품과 같이 명쾌한 실루엣이 특징입니다. 또한 몸에 딱 맞고, 플라멩코 의상처럼 앞이 짧고 뒤가 긴 플레어드스커트 디자인에 발렌시아가의 스페인 전통이 뚜렷이 드러나 있습니다. 그러나 발렌시아가는 이 스커트의 안감을 전형적인 플라멩코 의상에서 보는 단으로 배열된 러플로 대체하였습니다. 안감 대신에 쓰인 강렬한 핑크색 러플은 관능미를 발산합니다.
